HMD Global has just taken the covers off the Nokia G21, successor to the G20 which was released in early 2021. The new smartphone will start shipping soon in two color options of blue and taupe, or Nordic Blue and Dusk, as the company calls it.
The Nokia G21 integrates a 12nm Unisoc T606 processor — with two Cortex-A75 cores and six A55 cores — and a Mali G57 MP1 GPU. There’s 4GB of RAM and 64GB memory space onboard, with further storage expandability via its microSD card slot.
This dual SIM phone’s 6.5-inch screen is unfortunately of the LCD type with 720p+ resolution. It offers a refresh rate of up to 90Hz, which is definitely an improvement from the G20’s 60Hz display. The G21 is said to be ready for Android 13 even though it will be released running Android 11, notes GSMArena.
The highlighted feature of the smartphone is its 5,050mAh battery that will apparently let you squeeze out around three days of use courtesy of certain enhancements to the power saving modes. Two levels of energy saving at 20% and 10% have been enabled to achieve this.

Also, the battery can now tolerate 18W fast charging, even if HMD only sells it with a 10W charger in-the-box. In terms of photography, you get a 50MP main lens, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro shooter — that’s right, the 5MP ultra-wide camera has been ditched.
HMD will be rolling out the 4G-capable Nokia G21 in Europe very soon. It is priced at €170. There’s no telling when the phone will hit other markets around the globe at present.
