Unveiled at BlizzCon last year, Blizzard Entertainment’s much anticipated first-person shooter Overwatch will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One as well. Earlier this game was revealed to be a PC exclusive, but following mumblings about its possibility of launching on consoles, a confirmation has come via its makers themselves.
But it wasn’t an intentional confirmation, even as the exact banner which revealed the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Overwatch has now been taken down from the company’s website. We’re guessing that the company is waiting until the start of this year’s BlizzCon in order to make the announcement.
Thankfully, you won’t have to wait for long in order to know more about the game, as BlizzCon is scheduled to start later today. The image you’re seeing below comes courtesy of Eurogamer, and clearly depicts that a certain Overwatch Origins Edition will be released for the PS4, the Xbox One as well as PC.
This package will come equipped with 21 Heroes and 5 skins, while it will also contain Overwatch-themed content for other games made by Blizzard Entertainment. This title is being developed as a team-based first-person shooter.
Slated to arrive during either the first or second quarter of 2016, it places heavy emphasis on cooperative gameplay. Overwatch features various ‘heroes,’ with each of them having their own abilities and roles within a team. It’s not clear as of now as to what kind of a payment model it will be adopting.
Like we said, with Blizzcon about to start, you can expect a number of details about Overwatch to be revealed by its makers. As a sidenote, the much-awaited trailer for the upcoming Warcraft film will also be released during this show.
