The price of the Lenovo ThinkPad Twist convertible notebook has been divulged and its release date is expected to coincide with that of the Windows 8 OS, while the Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx tablet plans to show up at stores in December. Along with these devices, the company has even introduced the Windows-based Yoga laptops that will be up for grabs before the end of this year.
The IdeaTab slate is the first of its kind to employ the Windows 8 OS along with the dual core Intel Atom processor, says the manufacturer. It offers a multi-touch real estate of 11.6 inches and can be connected to a keyboard dock to turn it into a fully functional laptop. Claimed to be apt for mobile individuals, the tablet comes in handy for staying productive as well as entertained on the move. A USB port facilitates connections with peripherals like printers or hard drives and its cinema-quality audio can be attributed to Dolby Home Theatre. It provides battery life of close to 16 hours, but with the assistance of an optional base.
Similar to the Yoga laptops, the Lenovo ThinkPad Twist can be used as an Ultrabook or a tablet by rotating its screen at the required angle. It gains steam from the third generation Intel Core i7 processor and extends support to up to Windows 8 Pro platform, a 500GB hard drive or a 128GB SSD. There’s a 12.5-inch IPS multi-touch display, an optional 3G3 and a keyboard too. Moreover, the laptop features Intel Small Business Advantage and comes with Lenovo Cloud Storage by SugarSync.
The Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx will be available in December for $599 along with a keyboard for $149. The ThinkPad Twist costs upwards from $849 and is slated to hit store shelves on October 26 through authorized retailers and official website.
