The Digital Storm Veloce is the latest gaming laptop from the company that’s destined for US soil and a hefty price tag. Digital Storm states that its upcoming addition is the first in its category to feature a Haswell based processor as well as a full HD display and for the price being asked, buyers will be treated to some mouthwatering hardware.
The Digital Storm Veloce is, like most gaming laptops, a bulky device, but it does take portability into high consideration. It basically weighs 4.6 pounds with the battery included and is 1.26 inches thick. The exterior is designed with the company’s ‘signature finish’ which flaunts a red logo on the upper lid, while a silver and grey finish surrounds the backlit keyboard.
The notebook is capable of running almost any game thrown at it as it comes with the latest technologies from Intel and Nvidia. Doing the heavy lifting is a quad core i7 4800MQ processor that operates at up to 3.7GHz, while delivering rich graphics is a GeForce GTX 765M GPU with 2GB of dedicated memory. Complementing the highly capable hardware is the 64-bit version of the Windows 8 platform.
Under the lid, the Digital Storm Veloce dons a 13.3-inch 1080p HD screen. Catering to memory needs are 8GB of RAM and a 750GB HDD Hybrid with 8GB of SSD memory. Other features comprise of USB 3.0, Wi-Fi N, Bluetooth 4.0 and HDMI 1.4. What the company has missed out is the battery capacity, albeit considering that this piece of machinery will be power hungry, we doubt gamers are much bothered about activity life.
The Veloce laptop will be released on July 17 for a starting price of $1,535 and it will be available for purchase through the manufacturer’s online store. Additionally, the company is working on a new lineup of notebooks which are expected to go live after 4 days.
